Bondi Junction may not be Bondi boredom any more

October 7, 2013 § 1 Comment

This installation was discovered near a favourite Indonesian coffee shop, Triple Pick Coffee, in Gray Street, Bondi Junction. On first inspection it appeared to be an advertisement but then on a closer look, no, it was a pop up art installation, ‘Jigsaw”  designed by Archrival. It is fun and keeps you there in what is quite a vibrant little neck of the woods in the Junction.

It is, along with another one, ‘Urban Lounge’ by Drew Heath Architects on Spring Street, part of Waverley’s Council’s new strategy, Complete Streets,  to  improve the character  of Bondi Junction.  This has to be a good thing after so many attempts over the years that have never really tackled the structural issues of the Junction.
