Art and industrial architecture

IMG_3054IMG_3066IMG_3053IMG_3064With the end of the Sydney Festival 2014 there goes Christian Boltanki’s, Chance, installation at Carriageworks. The sheer scale of the space allows opportunities for such pieces that wouldn’t fit anywhere else – you can immerse yourself in the work, its’ ideas, enormity and industrial architecture.

You are faced with this linear, roller coaster scaffolding with a continuous stream of images on news printing rollers. The length of it is around twenty to thirty  metres. Haunting images of people’s faces of different ages confront you as do airport-sized digital numerical displays of current birth and death figures.
