Job Warehouse closes its’ doors

From across the road at The Mess Hall, having yet another fabulous Italian meal there, we look at the dusty facade of one of Melbourne’s post- WWII institutions, the Job Warehouse.
Two years on from my last visit to Melbourne and the door is permanently closed, the cast iron grills locked, a FOR LEASE sign on its’ windows. You would need a Bob Cat to lift the bolts of fabric, some of them may have been there for up to fifty years. Job Warehouse is really shut, its’ haunted windows at the top of Bourke Street, Melbourne, reminding the viewer of trips there years ago which were one of the highlights of going to that fashion capital.
