The Grounds Coffee Roasters and markets at Alexandria

November 10, 2014 § Leave a comment

In one of the fastest growing urban areas in Sydney, Alexandria, is this country oasis. The Grounds, Coffee Roasters, is where country meets city and where you can go for a rich variety of cafes, weekend markets, restaurants, food stalls, warehouses, barbecued food, waffles, homemade lemonade and much much more. And there are pigs, piglets, roosters, baby goats, sheep. Even on a packed sunny Spring Sunday, we could get into the The Pottery Shed, which serves great family-friendly modern food. The service is really quick yet we didn’t feel rushed.

Opened in 2012, the specialty coffee and research facility is the brain child of Ramzey Choker along with his business partner and sister on the business and design side of the project. Based in a pie factory dating from the early 1900’s, the complex retains much of its’ former industrial character.
