Maitland, Newcastle diversion

A trip north to Grooving the Moo music festival, led to a wizz around Newcastle and Maitland. Maitland, an old mining town, is a real gem of place set in farmland. Like Castlemaine, Victoria, there’s more intact buildings remaining from a by-gone era than you’ll find in many places. And there’s a great local regional art gallery there as well. It’s peaceful, laid-back, contained and well worth exploring
